The Supplementary Estimates are just issued: —Higher Education, Thames High School, £250; rewards for. the discovery of new Goldfields, £2000 ; grants in aid under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, £75,000; purchase of land for the purpose of the Waikato Confisv cated Land Acts, £5000; purchase of and fitting up electric light apparatus in the Parliament Buildings, £2555; total, ordinary revenue. £27,621; Land Eund, £4,275; Public Works, £135,056; Public Trustee, £15; Insurance Department, £500; making a grand total of £166,574. '. Parliament did not succeed in selecting a committee of supply last night, sitting till 1 a.m.; being occupied in discussing the Thermal Springs Amendment Bill, -which after a great deal of trouble was allowed to pass. i?or to-day some very debateable measures are on the tapis. First of all the report from the Dargaville Committee will be brought up, that in itself is sure to provoke a long discussion. Certain bills are put down for Committee; nine especially, one is the Bussell Exchange Bill, which it is said members are determined to block. In all probability the sitting will ba a protracted one.
