A young woman named Mary McMillan died at Newmarket yesterday of typhoid fever. It is stated that the disease is prevalent in the district.
A child named Cameron was accidentally scalded to death yesterday throngh a kettle of hot water falling over him.
The interest here in the football match between Auckland and Ottfgo on Saturday was intense. Crowds of people waited outside the newspaper offices for the result. <
The result of the inquiry re the loss of the schooner Alma is,,the captain's certificate is suspended for three months, and the mate is censured.
