Coins Bbctwke'b Chlokodihb, has earned for itself, not only in , Hindoetan, but all over the Eait. As a remedy of general utility, we - much question whether a better is imported into the country, and we ehall be glad to hear of its finding a place in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, we are bappy to say, are now relegated to the native bazaars, and,' judging from their sale, we., ncy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances ad infiniium, of the extraordinary efficacy of Db. Coilis Bkowme's Chxobodtmb in Diarrhoea and DjL^itery, Spasms, Cramps, Neuralgia the Vomiting of Pregnancy, and as a general sedative, that nave occurred under our personal observation during many years. In Choleraic Diarrhoea, and even in the more terrible forms i of Cholera itself, we have witnessed its surprisingly controlling power. Ws have never used j any other form of this medicine than Coilis Browne's, from a firm .conviction' that it is decidedly the best, and also from a sense of duty we owe to the profession and the public as we are of opinion the substitution of any other than Coilis Browne's is a delibebatb BBEACH Or PAITH OH THE BABT OJ THE CHEMIST TO PBEBCBIBEE AKD tATIEKT AIIXB. On all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from early indiscretions. On Gout. On Rheumatism. In these /Colonies those exoesses which we have indulged in " hot youth " lei upon us with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our repining futile. The sole idea should be the chance we possess of remedying the ills we already have, for combatting the effects likely to result. Hide it as he may, put on as good an exterior as he can, still is the victim conscious that he is a living lie, and that Boonar or later his vices will discover hira to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, the welfare of our future offspring, and the duty' we owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk; before employing a barrister, a careful man makes enquiries as their standing, their length of occupancy or residenoe; and, in the case of a legal adviser, both as tc his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults him upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necessary precautions and without regard to the fitneßS, qualification, experience and ability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, he consults the nearest mant whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite an opposite direotion. Is it astonishing that so many are driven mad, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope and money ? Have I not for years pointed out to them that $, Dr L. L. Smith, am the only legally qualified medical man advertising in the Colonies ? Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selUng,~*suph as Phosphodyne Essence of Life, 4c.—and had them analysed and found them to consist of "Burnt Sugir and flavoring matter," and the certificates [ have PBOVED to be all forgeries. It is for this reason that I step out of the ethics of the profession and advertise, to give those who require the services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified man, and one, moreover* who has made this bis especial study* '• Dr L. L. Smith is the only legally q alified medical man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne 24 years, in fall practice on NERVOUS DISEASES LOSS OF POWER AND DEBILITY SYPHILITIC AFFECTIONS WANT OF CONDITION GOUT AND RHEUMATISM.
