Wbilington, This day.
A meeting of Thames and Waikato members was held last night, at which Mr Graham was present. It was resolved that the Government should be asked for a definite reply in respect of the promise made re laud concessions for railway purposes. Thereupon Mr Sheehan wrote and forwarded a letter to the Premier, briefly recapitulating the points previously dealt with by the directors in their last communication to Government, and re* questing that in the event of the Government declining to carry out their promise they would cause the papers to be laid upon the table of the House at the earliest possible moment. An answer to this communication is expected this afternoon, and in the event of the reply being unfavorable, the members have determined to fight the matter out on the floor of the House.
Further action has been taken re the vote for harbor work purposes, but there is very little hope of success. It i 3 probable a small sum may be got upon the supplementary estimates for public works.
Mr Graham leaves for Auckland to* morrow.
