WELLINGTON.
This day. About 170 natives, many coming from Hawkn's Bay and the East Coast to attend the monthly meeting at Parahika, were turned back this morning by Col. Koberts, Captain Messenger, and a native inter preter. There were only ten A.C.'s pre« sent, A bar was placed across the bridge. They did not attempt to force a passage, but quetily turned back, and said they would return to-morrow.
A man named McGuire, an immigrant by the Oxford,]died at Newtown to-day. The cause of death was typhoid fever, contracted on board the vessel.
