The football representatives took their departure by the steamer Manapouri for the South to-day. The average weight of the team is eleven stone eight pounds. The Dunedin team average twelve stone four pounds. It is thought that the hardest game will be fought there. Two hundred pounds were collected in the city towards their expenses
A man named John Ponson Chevalier died suddenly at Waimoukou, Kaipara, on Sunday last.
