The event caused great popular excitement, and the civil authorities are endeavoring to ascertain the source from which the publication emanated, but as yet no arrests have been made.
Capetown, August 15.
Intelligence is to hand that another great battle has taken place between the followers of Cetewayo, and those of Usibepu, resulting in great slaughter on both Bides. Usibepu's followers were defeated, and the chief escaped with difficulty. Cetewayo is still in retirement, but is reported to be recorering from his wounds.
