SPORTING.
The Committee of- the Wanganui Jockey Club met on Monday and agreed to ioin the Eacing Association proposed by the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club; they also removed the disqualification from Mata, and Bay, the jockey. The programme for the coming year was framed, the following being the principal alterations 'from last year:—-Spring meeting: Lady's bracelet, value £20, for first horse; £5 for second, substituted for Railway plate. At the Autumn Meeting, first day : Maiden Hurdle race, substituted for hack hurdles; Sapling's, reduced from 60 to SOaovs.. and Flying Handicap from 125 to 115sovs. Second day,— Maiden. Plate reduced from 60, to 50sovs; Handicap Hurdles, increased from 75' to lOOiivs; 'Wanganui Stakes Handicap, reduced from £250 to 200sovs, second horae to get 30 instead of 50«ovs; Nursery Handicap, reduced from- 60 to 50 soys; District Eace Handicap, reduced from 200 to 150sovs.
