Destructive Fire at Waitekauri

[By Telegbath.] (FKOM OT7B OWlf COBBESPONDENT). Paeboa, This day. Mr A. Shepherd's Tramway Hotel at Waitekauri was burnt to the ground last night. The lire, which originated in or about the kitchen, was first seen by Mr E.M. Corbett, who experienced considerable difficulty in arousing Mr Shepherd and three men who were staying in the house. They just managed to escape with their personal effects, . everything being consumed.

The building, stock, &c, was insured in the New Zealand Company's Office for the sum of £500. The origin of the fire is unknown.
