Narrow Escape of the Rotma hana from Wreck.
(P.eb Pbess Association.) Bluff, This day. The Botomahana has' just arrived. At twenty minutes to four this morning she struck Wai papa Point, about the same place as the Tararua. She bumped several times, and remained on the rock about half-an-hour. The tide was three* quarters flood, and, as the tide made, she floated off and came on here. She is making do water, but on examination of the propeller showed that two blades were carried away, and two pieces were broken off another blade. She cannot be examined here, consequently she will retorn to Port Chalmersl She is at present discharging cargo, and will take nothing. The very fine weather has doubtless preTented a repetition of the Tararua dis*. aster. Later. A survey has been held of the Botomahana, which shows no perceptible damage excepting the propellor being broken.
