Ross and Co.* of this city, reports sales of N.Z. timber, ex, Deronport, Marie, Virginia, and Circe, as follows :— Kauri pine average price per 100 feet super hewn logs, 14s 6d; sawn flitches, 14s 6d ; tongued and grooved flooring, 6 r |in, 7s 4d; 6 x Hin;7s 6d; 4x; lin, 4s; white pine pine sawn boards, 9s 3d ; dressed boards, 10s per 100 feet super. The demand for timber has slackened, and the market is weak; ; * Sydney, Yesterday. Sailed, yesterday afternoon: The Union steamship Rofomahana, for Auckland. In the course of a speech., to-day, the Premier stated that Gorerninent would appeal to the country if the Land Bill which was to be introduced during the approaching session of Parliament was rejected. , :a MEtBOFENB Yesterday. The final course of the Waterloo Cop was run to-day, and won by Rhodanthe; Legerdemain being the runner.
