The gold yield of the colony for the year ended 31st March is 248,862 ounces, valued, at £994,555. Of this 87,798 ounces are from quartz claims, viz. :— 1 Tons . Ozs. : Coromandel ... 2,907 — 7.577 Thames 25,867 — 43,311 . Reefton 18908 19,194 Lyell 7,277 — 3,949 , Qtago 9,403 — 7,396 Lawrence, 6371 ozs from - quartz and oement. The rental for licenses-—Coro-mandel, £718; Thames, £3084; Te Aroha, £1441. The paid up capital of Thames companies exceeds £2,500,000 The total value of gold exported since 1859 was £39,747,940; of which the Auckland goldfields produced £5.055,155. The number of miners employed at the Thames is 810; Coromandel, 252; Te Aroha, 120; Total in the Colony 14.523. The gold duty of Auckland goldfields for year is £3,233.
