The French Government has protested against the annexation of the New Hebrides as being a violation of the engagements entered into by the British Government on the subject some time since. The Observer supports the riew of the Australian colonies regarding the annexation of New Guinea.
The cholera has appeared at Cairo. July 10. James Carey, the informer in the Phoenix Park murders, has left Ireland for one of the colonies in the Eastern Hemisphere.
: Mr Murray Smith, Agent-General for Victoria, in a letter to the Times, denies that Victoria erer, imported Kanakas to that colony. Major Ferguson, writing t5 the Times, asserts that the colouies, will soon claim the right to be represented in the House of Commons.
