Sydney, Saturday. A large fire occurred this evening at Newcastle. The extensive premises be longing to Messrs Jbbii Ash & Sons, tim* ber merchants, were totally destroyed. Topham, the, contractor for the Sydney waterworks, was to day stuck up near Camden by two armed men, who tied 1 him to a tree and tobbed him of a sum of £1600. The robbers have since been captured by the police.
Melbourne, Satudray.
The Victoria revenue for the quarter esded June 30 amounted to £1,350,000; being a decrease of £29,000 compared with the same quarter last year. The revenue for the pasl; financial year amounted to £5 600,000, being an increase of £12,000 during the same period. The Customs revenue has increased by £74,250, and the excise returns have decreased by £59,500, owing to the abolition of the beer duty. The territorial revenue has decreased by £146,000; the railways have increased by £123,000, and stamps by £18,225.
