This day.
At ran inquest held on the body of Mrs Adams, the jury returned a-verdict that the deceased died from serous apoplexy.
Yesterday Messrs Brodie, Porter, and Murdoch, waited on Mr Hales, the District Engineer, in reference to divert* ing a portion of the money granted for the repair of the Thames-Tauranga road, which would avoid the present hill and gorge to Owharoa, and enable the bounty to make a Dew road on the. level aloDg tbe bank of the river, and which would also be available for the new goldfield at Karangahake. Mr Hales forwarded the application by telegraph, and members are now awaiting a reply.
