This day. At a few minutes to . six o'clock, last night a fire broke out in a nine-roamed' house in Abel Smith street, owned. r»nd occupied by Mr Laurence. The family had tea between four dad five m the kitchen, and then .went into the parlor, when their attention wte celled by crack c and the kitchen was discovered in a "iMzq. The flames spread very 1 y&pidly, and only a little of the front room furniture -sfas saved. The house was insured in the National for £400, and the furniture for | £250 in the Union. The Sro spread rapidly to an adjoining fira-roomed cottage, owned and occupied by Captain Short, of the Co mot.
