This day. Wahanui, Taonniand other Ngatimaniapoto chiefs are at Alexandra to-day. Wahanui is busy getting a petition signed for presentation to Parliament, praying that their land should not be interfered with, or passed through the Land Court by any company now in the field. A report is prevalent that bodies have been stolen from the Kawhia caves and forwarded to Auckland, and the rumor has : caused great excitement. Tawhiao and suite passed through Tauranga oh Saturday, on their way to the Waikato. The body of Hr Firth who was drowned at. Ohinemutu arrived here to«day awaiting instructions from England. ; The flinenioa took her departure from the Manukau for Wellington this morning with the following members:—Sir George Grey, Seymour George, Sir Maurice O'Rorke, Hamlin, Swanson, and P.
