A trade with Tasmania, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, 4c, heing already established could easily be continued with regular ity. whilst the Newcastle and Graymouth coal trades should be also provided for. The Company do nob propose to limit themselves to running their own vesselsj bat will from time to time' charter vessels when required, in the event of their own not being immediately available. Messrs Stone Bros., who have for sometime carried on a good shipping business, and .who have now fairly started a new London line, possess the nucleus of a flset suitable for com* mencing operations, and arrangements have been made io take over their vessels and the goodwill of their shipping business for the sum of thirty thousand cix hundred and fifty pounds (£30,650), they ttikiug half the amount in Company's shares. Their fleet, consisting of 8 vessels, with aggregate tonnage of 2642 tons, should be augmented as soon as possible, so that the business may be extended without delay, especially the London and Am'erioan branches. < The servic sofMrC. B. Stone, as managing [ director, and the staff at present under his control, who are experienced in this line of buoinoss, haro been secured to .take office under the new Company. It is further proposed that fhe working expenses should be conducted on strictly economical principles, the expense of agencies and branches to be defrayed out of commissions on the actual freights earned by those branches. The proposed capital is set down at £150, 000, but us only a email portion is required at present for the purchase of the existing fleet and contingent expenses, further capital will not be called up unt 1 vessels suitable for the I London and other trades may offer for sale at i easonable prices, until which time it is proposed to charter vessels us required to supplement the present fleet.
