This day.
After the row at the South. DunedinBorough Council last night the majority of- Councillors and ratepayers held,*an indignant meeting, when a resolution •ailing on the Mayor and the whole Council to resign was carried. A. resolu tion was proposed that in the event of the Mayor taking the chair at any future Council meeting the ratepayers should take steps to preven* him, and on the [^temper of the meeting it would haye been lippjcio^, but the Councillors urged thejen resort to force. There 0 is great excitement in the Borough. ' •
Yesterday. George.Moon, whose unoccupiod house was burned down at Kaikoura, on Friday, has been arrested for arson. He.lived on an adjoining section.
