TIMARU.
This day
At,the annual meeting of the Timaru Licensing Committee to-day, it was decided to discontinue all twelve o'clock licenses. The publicans all had the option of taking ten to eleven o'clock licenses; all were renewed, the houses being well reported on. An order was made for hotel lamps to be kept burning till 11 o'clock on week nights, and ten on Sunday nights. William Dawson, a carrier, was thrown out of his cart on Saturday, and the wheel passed over his neck, breaking it. At the inquest held to-day a verdict of "Acci* dental death" was returned.
