Licensing Meetings.
The first meetings of the local Licensing Committees took place in the Courthouse to-day with the following results :—
Kattaeranga.—Present :. Eev. S. J. Keill (Chairman), Messrs Hart and Bull. The application of Mrs E. B. Percy, for a renewal of her hotel license was granted. Parawai. — Present : Messrs Hume (Chairman), Veale, Stone, and Hanson. The renewal applications of Messrs Fletfc, Eob Eoy Hotel; Winder, Bridge Inn; and Whelan, Bailway Terminus, were granted. Waiotahi.—Present: Messrs Small (Chairman), Brodie and Hill. A renewal was granted to Mr Thomas Clarke for the Golden Age Hotel. Thames South—Present: Mr Carpenter (Chairman), Eer. W. Calder and Mr Veale.r—The following renewals were granted:—Messrs T. Garret, Exchange; Constant, Camden; Twohill, Brian Boru; McKee, Coach and Horsei-; Amy, Globe; Buckland, Salutation; Butterworth, Warwick Arms; Dodd, Duke of Edinburgh; Eadree, Pembroke; Ben-
nick, Imperial} Syms, Bendigo ; Taylor* Post Office; Thomson, Thames; and Verral, >hortland.—Applications for extension of time were postponed until next Saturday for the attendance of a full bench. ''■,«• Thames Centbai.—Present: Messrs Carpenter (Chairman), Honiss, Danby, and Whitehead.—Renewals were granted to Messrs, Angove, Bay View; Curtis, Pacific; Burton, Junction; Pearce, Wharf; Ensor, Commercial; Mulligan, Cornwall Arms; Mahbney, Lady Bowen ; Robinson,. Claremont; Tonkin, Hazelbank ; Vaughan, Queen's, and Williams* Provincial. The applications of Messrs Angove, Burton, and Mulligan, for extension of time, were 'adjourned until 12 30 p.m. on Saturday next. Thames Nobth.—Present r—rMeiisrs Fraser (Chairman), Fricker, and Vifian. The license of the City of Glasgow Hotel was transferred from Mary Hogan to Wm. Page, and the following renewals were granted:—Wm. Barty, Prince Imperial; Comer, Shotover; Godkin, Eoyal; T. Heron, Governor Bowen; W. Page, City of Glasgew ; E. Bichards, Grahams town; Sawyer, Governor Ferguson ; Simpson, All Nations; G. Symington, Theatre Eoyal; and Walker, Empire.—The application of D. Barty, for an extension of license, to 11 o'clock, was refusod.
Hastings —Present,: Messrs Green ville (Chairman), Casey, Fricker, and Murdoch. New hotel licenses applied for tgr T. J. Robson (Kopu), and Comer, of the same place were granted, and accommodation licenses were granted to E. Smith, Neavesville, and J. L. Stevens, Kauaeranga. In reply to the Bench Sergt.Msjor Kiely stated that he had procured samples of the liquor sold in the district and had forwarded them to Auckland, but no result had been forwarded as yet. The following renewals were granted :rr Messrs Corbett, Pioneer, Hikutaia; Garrett, Puriri;" Hawkes', Eoyal Oak, Tapu; Jacops. Exchange, Tapu; Hori Matene, Kiri Kiri; Sainsbury, Whangamata.
