Arrived: The P. and O. steamship Home, with the Suez mail dated London, April 20.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of John Black in the employ of the Oriental Bank, who is charged with embezzling one thousand pounds in various sums. The full amount of deficiencies is believed to be more than the sum mentioned. Black has not yet been arrested. Adelaide, Saturrday. The race for the Birthday Cup (postponed from Thursday last) was run to-day, and won by Little Jack. Latee. In the race for the Birthday Cup to-day, the second place was taken by Footstep, Coriolanus and Claptrap running a dead heat for third place. Time, 3mins. 15|secs. ; Sydney, Saturday.
At the New South Wales Coursing Meeting today, the Leger was won by Humming Bird, Crabtree running up. The Plumpton stakes was won by Fleetfoot. The meeting passed off very successfully.
