If on your starboard red appear, It is your duty to keep clear ; To act as judgment says is proper— To port or starboard—-back, or stop her. But when upon your port is seen A steamer's starboard light of green, There's not so much for you to do, The green light must keep clear of you. 3.— Two Steamships Passing. Green to green and red to red, Perfect safety—go ahead; 4.— General Caution. Both in safety and in doubt Always keep a good look out. In danger with no room to turn, Ease her—stop her—go astern. Suggested Improvements. l.~ Two Steamsldps Meeting Unexpectedly. Meeting steamers, you should dread When you see three lights ahead ; Sound your whistle, stop her dead Ease her—stop her—go astern. 2. — Two Skips Meeting Nearly 'End on. Green to green, or red to red. Signals answered—go ahead.
