Latest Coromandel Mining.
UwroN- Beach.—The new boiler has been placed in position, and the required masonry is about completed. The manager is now waititg for some necessary fittings from Auckland. In the low level there is a fine reef showiog in the face, but the precious metal has not yet made its appearance. A rise is being started in the intermediate level on a supposed branch of the cross reef. A start has been made to drive along the Black reef, on the footwall side of which it is hoped that some rich dropper may be picked up of similar richness to those previously worked to such advantage by the old company. Success.—The manager appears to have picked up the run of gold again. On Wednesday he forwarded 211bs of rich specimens to Auckland. Home Rule.—Good crushing dirt has come from the stopes during the week. Some necessary work is beiDg done in connecting the low level tramway with the battery. This work will be finished by the end of next week, when crushing will commence. Colonial.—A parcel of stuff was put through for 13 ounces retorted gold. Hope.—Boyle, tributer, obtained sozs 3dwts from a lot of general stuff". Golden Belt.—A large parcel has been bagged, and has long been waiting for the carters, who are so busy that it; is feared the bags will rot before their ssi> vices can be obtained.
Waeriob.—A contract has been let, to drive a low level to cut the rich leader at a greater depth. Homewabd Bound.—A paddock of stuff was to have been crushed at the Emily battery, but, as in the ease of the Golden Belt, teams could not be obtained to do the carting. Mohawk.—Arrangements have been made for starting work on a fresh basis altogether, when it is hoped that good results will follow.—Mail.
