THAMES GOLDEN CROWN.
In the intermediate crosscut between the 100 andl7oftlevels, a leader was met with yesterday, and when cut through found to be 18 inches -thick. It carries good mineral, and looks well for gold, through none was seen in it. It is a new leader, and until now has never been cut at any depth, though Mr Dunlop thinks it was passed through, in a crosscut upon one of the top levels. No work of consequence has been done on it, and as it is lying ! iv a favourable class of country,! there is a good chance of payable blocks j being found on it. The crosscut is being ! pashed ahead for the present, as some other leaders known to be gold-bearing ar on ahead. No further work will be done on the leader just cut until the battery, which is undergoing repairs, is ready to start which will be about the end of next week. The only other work going on at present in the mine is a crosscut between the battery and the 100 feet levels. GOLD RETURNS. Aibubnia. —Sawyer and party have finished a crushing for the return of 4ozs 16dwtsgold.
