Thames Goldfields Hospital.

The regular meeting of the Committee was held yesterday afternoon. Present— Revs. S. J. Neill (President), P. O'Reilly. Bull, and Barley; Messrs Wildman, Lawlor, Osborne, Hall, cGowan, Stone, Deeble, Brodie, and Eraser.—The minw'e* of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.—ln reply to a letter from the Town Clerk, regardiug a case of diptheria, it was resolved that he be informed that persons suffering from contagious diseases would be admitted into the fever hospital. —The resignation of a nurse was received. —The House Committee reported accepting tenders for blankets, &c.; that a man named Hamilton was not a fit inmate for the Home, as he was able to maintain him self; that accounts to the amount of £402 12s 8d should be paid ; and that the alterations at the Fever Hospital had not been tendered for. The House Surgeon reported that on the 31st March there were 23 patients in the Hospital, and during the month 16 more were admitted, and discharged ; one patient, Edward Shuttleworth, died of enteritis and peritonitis. On the 30th April there were 21 patients remaining. The average daily number of in-patients had been 23|. 151 outpatients had attended during the month.

The Financial Statement was as follows :—Receipts : To.cash balance 31st March, £36 9s 7d; patients' charges, £9 15s 6d; subscriptions £10 12s 6J ; garden, 2s; Bank New Zealand overdraft, £568 8s Bd. Total, £625 8s 3d.— Expenditure: By salaries, £62 18s 8d ; maintenance, £91 13a 7d; drugs" and appliances, £163 3s lOd; medical comforts, £5 10s; furniture, £10 Is sd; bedding, £4 15s 5d ; clothing, £9 4s 9d; printing and advertising, £6 6s 4d ; commission, £3 19s 6d; miscellaneous, £2 lls 3d; insurance, £6 15s; garden, ss; fever hospital, £9 10s ; ditto maintenance, £4 6s lid ; ditto miscellaneous, £1 10s ; balance of cash, £3 12s 3d; Bank New Zealand overdraft 31st March, £242 16s 7d. Total, £625 8s 3d. Assets; Amount due from Government. Liabilities : Bank New Zealand £568 8s 8d ; salaries, £79 3s 8d; monthly account, £229 9s ; Coombes and Thompson, £94. Total, £971 Is 4d.

An application for the position of nurse in the fever hospital was referred to the House Committee.

The Bey. C. E. Barley and Messrs Brodie, Veale, and Wild man were elected a House Committee for the ensuing month.
