Sydney, Yesterday. Parliament was prorogued by his Excellency the Governor to-day. It was also decided to withdraw the Champion Stakes from the programme of New Year's Day Meeting, iand to substitute in its place two races, to be called the Bagot Stakes and Standish Plate, the winner of the latter to receive 500 sovereigns. The race for the Champion Stakes is hereafter to be run at the Autumn Meeting in March, the added money being, as at present, 1000 sovereigns for the first horse, and 200 for the second.
