METALLIC GRAINS FROM GREY RIVER.

The following is the analysis of some specimens sent by Mr B. .Bayley to Mr Sker to report upon:— Hardness, 6. The specific grarity cannot be exactly ascertained, but it is as high or higher than that of gold. Some of the grain* brittle, not affected by a powerful magnet; slightly attached by ohloiine. Not sufficient for complete analysis, bat it is either iridosmium or platinum-indium, both valuable sub stances. The first metal has long since been identified here as a product of the Nelson Roldfield.—W. Skbt.
