OUR MINES.
NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. A large number of visitors went down the mine to-day. It is looking well throughout. The seaward drive at No. 5 level touched the break yesterday forenoon. Men are now timbering up the level, aud bringing on the leading stope. There is a good show of gold in the first stope over this drive close to the winze ; a small parcel of specimens were secured here today. In the eastern drive on No. 2 reef at No. 4 level the reef comprises about 9ft of stringers, all of which are being shot down and sent to the battery after the removal of the rough mullock. Drivingis still proceedingon the Mariner's reef at this level. The reef is looking well, and gold was freely visible to-day in the quartz broken out. DEEP LEVEL CROSS. The winze is still being sunk at the Imperial boundary oa the Mariner's reef. About five feet of quartz is being taken down, in which gold is occasionally seen.
