WELLINGTON.
This day. Arrived : Hauroto from Sydney at J9 this morning. The Chairman of the Christchurch Chamber of Commerce waited on the Colonial Secretary this morning bringing under his notice the resolution passed by the Chamber with respect to the Colonial Exhibition to be held at Boston. The resolution expressed a desire that New Zealand should be represented, but before deciding on a final course they wished to ascertain what assistance could - bs relied upon from Government in forwards ing and arranging exhibits. The reply made was that Government will consider the question. Owing to the short time before the opening of Parliament Major Atkinson will be unable to proceed North and 1 lecture on National Assurance, etc.; he will, however, address his constituents , before Parliament meets . , ; ■ | Should the alterations to Parliament House he completed in time, members will be called together the first week in week in June.
