This day. The Bishop of kelson returned home yesterday morning after an absence of fifteen monhts. Bunting was displayed in his honor. Last night a public welcome was accorded him in the Provincial Hall, where, in the presence of a large assembly, an address of welcome was presented to his Lordship. The Bishop, in his speech, referred to a variety of sub> jects, and spoke very touchingly of the late Archbishop of Canterbury.
Yesterday, At about half-past 3 this morning a fire broke out in the Thistle Inn, Bridgestreet, and the building was gutted. The only occupants, were the owner (George Adam) and his sister, who were awakened by the sound of burning wood, and had only just sufficient, time to escape. The building was insured in the Colonial office for £250, and the stock and furniture for £2CO in the Liverpobl, London, and Globe. The cause of the fire is unknown.
