He left about £135,000, divisable between the Hospital, the Free Library, the Children's, Training School, the Parnell Orphanage, the Auckland Institute, the Old Men's Home, and the Sailor's Home./ i / ' .The total private bequests of Costley's only amount to £3900, so that the balance of the immense estate, valued at £135,000, goes to the charities. j (FROM OUB OWN COBBEBPONDBNT) . ' Edward Oostley,,who left; munificent donations to the Auckland charitable institutions, was 80 years old, and. has been 45 years in the colony. For the past 17 years he has lived with a family named Mackie. The father is a coachbuilder, and a brother of Mackie, formerly of the Thames. It was believed that he would leave his money to that family. Everything, however, except a few inconsiderable trifles, has been left for charitable institutions. The total value of Costley's estate is £135,000-£4,000 has been-left to Mrs Mackie. „ The legacy duty will amount to £10,000. .
