TIMARU.
Yesterday. A man named Geo. Brien was thrown from his horse, near Salt Water Creek, last night, and, his foot getting entangled in the stirrup, he was dragged some distance, and was picked up in an insensible condition by a man who was with him. He was conveyed to his home, where he expired this morning.
