AUCKLAND.
This day. J. T. Boylan has been elected VicePresident of the Savings Bank. It is stated 1 hat Government intend next session applying for a Eoyal Com* mission to enquire into the whole working of the Native Land Courts. The Salvation Army paraded the town last night, and were not molested by larrikins. -. The Society of Arts have sold £250 worth of pictures since the commencement of the Exhibition. A notice of motion has been given in the City Council, "That Council take immediate consideration as to the advisability of acquiring a portion of land extending from Lamb's new mill, Fort street, to point on Beach road. Proceedings were taken against Sarah Jackson, who was accused of kidnapping children and robing them of their clothes, .in the Police Court today. The prisoner was remanded.
