AUCKLAND.

This day.

At midnight a tremendous landslip occurred at the cliff, Point Brittomart, near the centre of the city. The cliff is about 80 feet high and against it Mr John Lamb, for the past 3 years, has been erecting a retaining wall and flour mill about IGO feet in length, by 50 feet in height. The wall gave way, and about 2,000 tons of debris coming down, destroyed a portion of the mill, and corered the roadway. A cabman passing at the time had a narrow escape.
