THE PIG NUISANCE.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sib,—:T am glad to see that the nublic are awakening sufficiently to exclaim against the evil end filth which surround us, the existence of which should never have been permitted from the first of the Borough's formation. As things . are, any householder may be stunk sick, and illness be constantly in his house, owing to the foul odours continually given off from pigs, their'-styes,-and" surroundings. Now, I can speak from sad experienc —■ having had sickness in my house from this cause—as on either side of my dwelling are, not one pig per half-dozen contiguous allotments, as *■' A Ratepayer " objects to, but dozens. I have counted over thirty ; the styes are fall, and the allotment is overrun with them. A dozen, more or less, is of little consequence. This has been my luck for years, and without a bye-law who is to prevent it P I hope this evil will soon be done away with, and we may be able, as in ether small towns, to live without this constant association of filth amongst us.—l am, &c, - 4 .( | A StJFFEBBK.
