THE PIG NUISANCE.
.. (To the Editor of the Breoiaa Star.) '! " Sib, —I am very: pleased to see tho 1 matter of pig-keeping withia the Borough : has come so prominently before the pub- ■' lie. The only thing lam surprised'at is that this nuisance should have been allowed to continue so long. Near to my house—and within 200 yards of the Odd '. Fellow's Hall, in Richmond street-—with?n t-, the space of three quarters of an acre on 6- , thirty-three feet allotments, are as many . pigs and styes, and four of these allotments ..are adjoining. At times during the late . serere weather, the smell from them has ; been something unbearable. Supposing each owner or occupier withi i the Borough exercised his privilege of keeping a pig, what a nice place we would lire in. Trusting that our authorities will soon put an. end to this nuisance,—l am, &c, Ratefayeb.
