Yesterday. In the Supreme Court civil jurisdiction Positch v. Perotti: this was an action to recover £1500 damages for three distinct assaults committed by Mrs Perotti, of Greymouth, upon her servantgirl,daughter of R. Positch (plaintiff), of Canoe Creek, Grey district. A special jury was empannelled. The case lasted from 10 a.m. yesterday morning till a quarter past 2 this morning, the jury bringing in a verdict for plaintiff for £275 and costs. The Chief Justice left by Curistchurch coach at 6 a.m.
