Mr Lamb mentioned at the Hardor Board meeting that it would be necessary to provide wharf accomodation for the s.s Westmeath upon her arrival in port here in May. She is a vessel of 3200 tons, and is the first of the Shaw Saville Albion Company's direct line of steamers between New Zealand and England.
A young woman named Kate MeManus was arrested yesterday for being fcund in male attire. No reason is to be assigned for the freak : she was not in liquor. It appears that tbe clothes MoManus was garbed in belonged to Samuel Butcher.
The 50 Constabulary stationed about Cambridge will be employed in street for* mation in the town.
The case of Stackpole v. Verrall was calied at the Supreme Court to-day, bat aB there was no appearance it was struck out.
