KUMARA.

. Yesterday. A great fire occurred here last night. It broke out in Mrs Cooper's fruit shop, occupied by Mr Robert Brown, at 10"30 o'clock, and spread from Adamson's, the baker's shop, to Wood's, the baker's. All were completely destroyed. The buildings inclusive are: those of Mrs Adamsoa's, baker; Brown's fruit shop; Mr Harrison's Hibernian Hotel; Mr Nicholson's, commission agent; Mr Spier's, bookseller ; the Masonic Hotel ; and Mr Wood's, baker. All were gutted. Mr Wood's bakery at the back is standing, but his shop was pulled down to pre<« vent the fire extending to the Shamrock Hotel. Fxcept in Mrs Brown's most of the goods were removed, but are much damaged. _
