S lS) —Would you kindly inform me how it bappens that people are r'lowed to shoot native geme at Alexandra, in Waikato, end not on the Themes. The Goveraor, by DOtific itioa in i'ae Gazette* proclaimed the shooti lg season opea on the 20th of this month, but it appears that Mr Cheeseman is a greater power than the Governor of the colony, aad says that native game shall not be shot till he gives permission. Whic^ King are we to obey—the Governor's proclamation or , the ipse dixit of Mr Choesetnan of Auckland, whoever he may bo ? Now t Mr Editor, tell us if tho season for native game is. open or not ? I, one of many, would wish to have some sport, but none of us wish to infringe on the laws of our . adopted country.—l am, &c. f Shot.
