A.J.C. AUTUMN MEETING

Sydney. Yesterday.

The first day's racing of the Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting , took place at Randwick to»day. The weather was fine, and fully 20,000 spectators visited tha course. The following are the results of the principal races :—-;--

Hurdle Race, two miles and a-half Warrigan 1, Satellite 2, First Try 3.

Autumn Stakes, mile and a-half: Assyrian, 1; Plunger, 2 ; Darebin, 3. As Syrian won, after a splendid race, by hal a-head.

St. Leger Stakes, mile and threequarters :—Navigator, 1; Morpeth, 2 ; Nicholas. 3. Only these three started. Morpeth led on sufferance for threequarters of a-mile, when Navigator came" up and led the run home turn, winning in a canter. Time, 3mins. lOsecs.

• Doncaster Handicap, mile and furlong : Sardonyx, 1; Gloucester. 2 ; Creswich, 3. .■. . ■ "...•..... .
