Seizure of a Large Still.

: Wanoanui, This.day. An illicit atill was seized yesterday afternoon in the bosh about eight miles . frpni Palmerston, in an out of the way : spot.*.' Constables Gillespie. aud, Stanton long suspected the existence of it, and a few days ago found it after a lengthy search. Upon the information coming to 'Wangacui of the discovery Inspector James and Mr Lundon, Collector of Customs, immediately proceeded to the ■pot, in a dense bash, where a spring takes « tine. After about 20 hours waiting they captured a man named Jessop j after,.a long, chase. They afterwards . -etaght another man named Pyke, who was ;.found going .to.the still. Jessop was convicted of the same thing here fire years --•go. _It was one of the most extensive affairs ever known in the colony. It contained a 400 gallons vat, and a still cased in brickwork. The other appurtenances are barrels, &c, and 450 gallons of wash ready to pass' through the still. The plant is capable of turning out 100 gallons of ■pints daily. The prisoners will be brought up to. day.
