Yesterday. The Post, to-night, states : We understand that instructions have been given by Mr Eustace Brandou for the com meticement of a criminal prosecution ■against the proprietors of the Timaru Herald for a libel contained in a leading article which appeared in that paper on the 10th inst., commenting on Mr Brandon's action in connection with the recent proceedings in Dunedin under the " Copyright Act.'' ' This day. The (xovernment have received information than everything is quiet at Parihaka, and Te Whiti, does not show any disposition to hold meetings there; he has, it is believed, sent word to the natives up and down the coast, not to attend £fc Parihaka.
