The largest station in Australia is owned by the Barrow Creek Pastoral Company, " The block, situated around Barrow's Creek •' on the orerland telegraph line, embraces 20,000 square miles, or 12,800,000 acres. The following advertisement appears in a Riverina newspaper :—'• Wanted.—A-". cultured gentleman, capable of milking • goats. A university man preferred. Applications, with testimonials as to pro* fieiency, to be addressed," &c. Western Australians object strongly to the performance of Turn Taj (or's " Ticket* of-leave Mau." Its implication is too . personal. New South Wales opens its financial year with a surplus of uo less than £1,827,000.
