A, gentleman, (?) (says the writer of " London Talk." in the Argus) rubbed a hot poker orer his wife's, throat and legs, as though it had been an embrocation. We remember reading of a pious couple in Auckland doing the afime thing to a child, tojtive it an idea.of what "hell" .was. There are brutes in this world, and they should be punished.
