WANGANUI.
Yesterday. The little girl, whose body was found on the beach on Tuesday afternoon, has been identified as the child of a woman residing in Wanganui, the father being a Chinaman. There are strong suspicions of foul play, and the mother has been arrested. There will be an inquest held to-morroy. A boy named Hendley had his hand smashed this afternoon in the machinery at Murray's foundry, and two fingers had to be amputated.

The name of the mother of the child found drowned on Tuesday is Phoebe Keitch, a peculiar looking woman 25 years of age. She was brought up at the Court to-day on a charge of wilful murder, and was remanded to the inquest to be held to-morrow.
