Yesterday.
The ease of forcible entry against Walker (3), Grice, and Grace was decided to-day at Cambridge, in defendants' favour, they being discharged. As* regards the other cases it is not definitely known whether they will be brought on or not. At a meeting of the Harbour Board a letter was read from the Marine Department acknowledging the receipt of a letter from the Board asking that telegraphic communication be established with Tiritiri, and in reply stating that the necessary cable had been ordered from England, and whoa it was received the work of laying it would be proceeded with. Sailed: The Arawata, for . Sydney. 'W, W. Gudgeon was a passenger by her. Mr Graves Aicken's term of office as Chairman of the Harbour Board having expired by effluxion of time, Mr C. B. Stone was .elected Chairman. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church formally opened its sittings to-night in St. Andrew's Church. Tbe incoming Moderator, the Rev. Robert Somerville (of Avondale), delivered a lengthy address. • This day. Arrived : Wairarapa from Sydney.
