POPLARS AND WILLOWS.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sib, —I was pleased to see in your last evening's issue that Mr Hall had taken up the above question. It is without doubt' high time something was done,, as these trees are causing an immense amount of damage in the town. The asphalt watertable laid down in Mary street a few months ago at great expense is rapidly being broken up by the trees planted in that street, and I suppose that is only a commencement of the trouble in all parts of the Borough. The Works Committee should at once take steps in the matter.— I am, &c,
