Yesterday,

At a meeting of the creditors of E. C. Jordon, of Tauranga, bankrupt's affidavit stated bis liabilities at £3119, while his sole asset was a freehold farm upon which there was a mortgage of £1100, and a second mortgage to the National Sank. The value of the estate was unascertained. After some discussion, on the motion of Mr Browning, the debtor was instructed to lodge a return of all the properties purchased for ; or by his wife during the past three years. The meeting then adjourned. At an inquest on the body of Geo. Rhodes, builder, an open verdict of ''Found drowned " was returned.
